11) What if I've missed a class?
Don't worry - the classes are designed to account for this. At the beginning of every class the dance
moves taught recently are revised. Or, if you've been away for a while, you might like to
start at a lower class level to refresh your memory.
12) Can I come to just watch the classes?
Yes! You can watch the classes free of charge at all of our venues.
13) What are the benefits of learning salsa?
As well as learning a new skill, our classes will introduce you to new music
and you will be learn a little about Cuban culture. Not to mention meeting new friends and keeping fit!
14) Can I do two classes in one night?
You may do any class you wish!
For the Beginners Class, you don't need any prior experience to join. For the Improvers Class, it is advisable that you
feel quite comfortable with the Beginners Class moves.
15) What is salsa?
"Salsa" refers to various dance styles that originated in Cuba and developed in the various locations in the
Americas. It is usually a partner dance (with the man leading and the lady following),
but is also danced solo and in groups ("rueda").
16) What is "Rueda"?
Rueda, which means "wheel" in Spanish, is a group dance in which
pairs of dancers form a circle and moves are called
by one person, with frequent exchanges of partner in time with the music. Note that the Rueda dance
moves are also used
in partner salsa, so by learning Rueda moves you are also working on your partner dancing.
